To keep the player immersed in Reel Run's narrative, I themed the health bar as a film. As the player takes damage, the film burns by playing a few frames of the animation. 26 frame animation.

In Adobe Photoshop, I created mockups and finalized designs of the HUD attached to each character.

In Unreal Engine, the Combo Meter will be masked to show the bar filling up as the player strings combos during the fight.

To further convey to the player that they are inside of a film, the pause and options menus are in black and white and reference frozen reels.
